Founded in 2022 by Dr. Nicola Chalmers, Electron Veterinary Consulting was established to improve radiation safety practices and increase knowledge within the veterinary industry. Since its inception, Electron has grown into a trusted leader in veterinary radiation compliance, offering expert guidance, tailored training, and practical support to veterinary professionals across New Zealand.
With a strong focus on simplifying radiation compliance and enhancing imaging practices, Electron partners with clinics to ensure safety, efficiency, and regulatory confidence.
Dr Nicola Chalmers BSc BVSc CRSA
Nicola is a qualified radiation safety advisor, but first and foremost is a veterinarian with over a decade of clinical experience. Nicola combines her clinical insight with regulatory expertise to deliver practical, effective support for veterinary teams. She is dedicated to helping clinics optimize imaging use while ensuring the highest standards of radiation protection for staff, patients, and the public.
Her growing interest in imaging led her to specialize in radiation safety, where she gained extensive experience as a Radiation Safety Officer, overseeing radiology protocols across multiple clinical sites. In 2024, she became certified by the Australasian Radiation Protection Accreditation Board as a Radiation Safety Advisor (CRSA).
